Just watched the first episode last night, pity UK Sci-Channel have no plans
to screen it as yet.

It was quite good.

Yes it was very good, they managed to merge the original story with this
revised version quite well and the SFX were top notch although seen the
same style of CGI in Firefly which was done by the same company.
It certainly makes the likes of Enterprise and Farscape look quite dated
UK SciFi don't have a lot of money compared to the US station and I suspect
that this mini-series is far more expensive per hour than Firefly/John Doe etc
that our SciFi bought this year.
Someone will buy the mini-series, SKY1 if they have any sense should
especially as it seems that it may become a full weekly show next year.

How typical.
That in itself explains why many people consider the movie channels
to be poor value, far to many made for TV movies and US television
pilots and specials.
Perhaps I am old fashioned but a dedicated movie channel should only
be showing programming that has had a theatrical release.

I would much rather spend my money on ADSL then sky movies, at least one
gets to see movies that are not oldies, like these channels show and I am
not talking about films a year or so old, i Dropped sky movies because of
the crap they where showing from yonks ago.
