I know what you mean, why pay for the film channels when they will be on the
free terrestrial ones within a year or so.


I could never see the point of doing this either, especially when the
pay channels weren't even widescreen. Now that they sometimes
broadcast in the original cinema aspect and in DD 5.1 (of which the
free channels do neither yet) I can see much more point in paying.
