Default Sky+ refurbished box question.

Hi,

I have seen an offer where I can get a Sky+ box for £99 and £1 installation,
but the Sky+ box is a refurb. Could this be a problem? is it likely that I
would get an old model, and would this make any difference?

Thanks in advance for any input.

If the refurb comes with a 12 month warranty then even if it is a
version 1 box I would consider it a good deal since most faults
would have been rectified with a simple swap out of either the
HD, PSU or the main board.
In terms of functions there are no differences between the two versions
of SKY+, cosmetic and a more integrated chipsets are the only differences
as the version 2 box was the result of cost savings from new components
and manufacturing processes.

Your legal rights extend beyond any 12 month warranty. The quoted
price of £99 is a good one, as long as anyone buying is prepared to
have to change the drive one day. The original fault was probably a
dead drive anyway.
