Default MAJOR Sky+ Bug

If you have Sky+, and the new software, you may want to check that you can
still watch things recorded before 7pm last night.

There is a "Known Bug" according to a Sky+ Technical Services manager (I
have her name), where by LOTS of people will not be able to watch ANYTHING
recorded before last night!

I've lost months of recordings; Sky's solution - just delete them!

Oh, yes, they knew about this before sending the software out - wouldn't it
have been nice of them to tell us!

Compensation? It's like someone entering your house and wiping your
computer's hard drive. In fact, it's exactly that. I don't have Sky+ so I
don't have authority.

I've seen reports of this problem in Digital Spy forums. Does it affect
V1, V2 or both sets of boxes ?

I've just checked on my Sky+ box which was updated this morning, and I
am still able to watch all my previous recordings dating from last
night, right back to 9 months ago without any problems.

Sorry to hear you are having problems though :-(

I am awaiting a call back; firstly I want a letter from them telling me that
it is a known problem, and that they issued the software knowing the
consequencies..... THEN we start talking about compensation.

Strange problem. My V1 box is having no trouble playing back eight-week
old recordings. I wonder what's causing it to happen to some but not
others?

Just checked a four week old V2 box - all recordings still appear to be OK
