SKY TO FIGHT 150 MILLION POUND A YEAR DISH TAX BILL
Proposals from Ofcom to levy a controversial 'dish tax' on BSkyB could hit the company for 150
million pounds a year. Depending on how Ofcom calculates the levy, Sky's seven million customers
could face having to pay an extra 20 pounds a year, which could affect Sky's attempts to gain new
subscribers and hamper the company's plans to raise the average amount subscribers pay annually from
366 pounds to 400 pounds by the end of 2005.

Aah. So completely made up, then.

There has been no such proposal AFAIK. The only place there has been such a
tax was Belgium and it was ruled illegal under EU law and had to be
withdrawn.

You don't realise it's a tax, as Sky, not the customer would pay.
The money then gets added to the Sky bill sent to the customer.
So it is a NuLabour stealth tax if introduced.
