Sky+ crash

Had our first serious Sky+ crash yesterday...serious in that it took all the
recordings with it. Its failed before but I've generally been able to watch
stuff before resetting it. Bummer. After it came back it was stating no
recordings at all, same after subsequent hard power off so I did a full
reset just to be sure there wasnt crap lying around on the disk and start
afresh. Dunno if there was something I could have done to try to get the
recordings back?
