Default re-subscribing

Forgive me for asking...
My Dad is thinking of cancelling the subscription to Sky and only wants the FTV/FTA channels using
his existing card.

If he later decides to re-subscribe to (say) the "Value" package, will he be charged a reconnection
fee?

I heard a rumour that if you decide to subscribe again to a package, then Sky will charge a
"reconnection" fee on top of the monthly subscription fee.

No, you just pay for the package you want. You don`t have to serve another
12 months either.
