The widescreen flag was set, but the picture was in 4:3 ratio (an all too
common BBC "fault"). This means on a normal TV with 4:3 and letterbox
selected, you'd have a black box around the screen. Best way to remedy this
is to do the following:

Services
System Setup (select)
Picture Settings (select)
Highlight "Letterbox Mode" and press left or right to toggle to "OFF"
Save the settings.

This will mean you see full screen again. Just repeat the actions above to
change back to letterbox mode, by toggling the icon again.

HTH,

Simon

You have been reported to the spelling & grammar police, for bad
spelling or grammar

And to the aspect ratio police for complaining that a 4:3 programme was
correctly displayed (for once) on your tv.

This was because the feed came from Russia television and they don't have
widescreen cameras.

The aspect ratio might have been correct but it was still in a box which is
what the OP was complaining about.

You could tell which were the BBC cameras at the game because they WERE in
Widescreen

The aspect ratio might have been correct but it was still in a box which

is
what the OP was complaining about.

If he was watching on a 4:3 tv with his digibox set up to do 16:9 letterbox
then fair enough - that will look wrong. But if he is complaining that the
4:3 picture was not resizable on his 16:9 tv, then he is wrong.
