Default question about live pause

Had sky+ installed yesterday and would like an explanation
of how live pause works. Ive read the FAQ and it says that
it is not constantly recording as a default but my box is set
for a 60 min buffer so i can rewind the channel that i am
watching .Is this how others have their boxes set up and is it
wise to be constantly recording. Also i can record one channel
and use live pause and rewind on another yet everything i
have read says i can't record 2 channels at once. Can someone
explain live pause/rewind and they use it.

Andy.

Hi Andy,
Live pause works on a "catch up" basis.
And recording of 2 channels at same time isnt available yet, but keep an eye
on ur Sky Mag for info on this forthcoming feature.

Re the manual, the buffer was introduced as a software upgrade a while back,
the manual may be old.

An updated manual including details of the duel record (not available yet)
can be found at

live pause and instant rewind (buffer) are two seperate things.
Live pause does what it says on the box, instant rewind is constantly
recording whatever you are watching up to a certain amount (60 mins in your
case) so you can instantly rewind. You can only instantly rewind if you've
got the buffer switched on, you can live pause any time (Once you are in
live pause, you can also rewind IIRC!).
And as you have found, in this way you can record two channels at once,
though the instant rewind buffer(Or live pause) isnt permanent so you cant
keep them. recording two channels at once would let you save two channels
for later replay.
