Nice to see that one can now start at the top and quickly become CE of a giant company, as long as you are your father's son. In the old days you had to actually work a bit, prove your worth and be accepted by a majority of the shareholders. Nepotism is not clearly not dead but thankfully the old man soon will be. -- Digibox problem? : A reboot solves 90% of these. It's just proving you don't really need to work hard to become a daylight robber Jom ;-) Having known a couple of people who have had senior board level positions in FTSE companies (including one at Sky) I do feel obliged to point out that, at least from my sample of 2, these people work unbelievably hard and are under enormous stress, it's just a different world. I'm not sure that I could handle the level of stress and sheer long hours involved for more than a few months, it is a level beyond what I experience in my job (and my job is considered unusually high stress and long hours). $ky could almost run itself ,Millions made from advertising on encrypted channels plastered with dogs,Then some of that cash handed over to the yobs that play footie is'nt that hard to do? The city and shareholders will never tollerate a company like Sky standing still, JM needs to do more than just maintain the status quo, he needs to keep Sky growing. Now, as for "...the yobs that play footie", I'm with you 100% on that one! - Julian |
