Default Tying up Sky+

Am I correct in assuming that when copying from hard drive to VCR I am allowed to watch any other program that is on the hard drive while this copy function is working, but what I am not allowed to do is use the copy function and watch any another sky channel, so if you use the copy function and do not wish or have no other programs to watch on the hard drive your sky box is tied up until you finish the task.

Regards Les

When you're using the copy function, pressing any key on the Sky
remote will stop the playback, aborting the copying.

The best time to do copyng is to start it when you go to bed, or are
going out, or when you know you're not going to need the box for
anything else

No. You cant do anything else, at least you certainly cant watch anything
else. (I think you could have it recording to disc at the same time). There
is one decoder. It can be decoding to tape or the TV.

My problem Brian is I copy lots of films for my grandchildren to watch on video as they have trees that inhibit sky viewing, so 2/3 films seems to tie up my sky during the day and as the films are not of my taste viewing is not an option, seems it is something I will have to live with, or maybe vanish to the bedroom and watch my mirror one but that doesn't seem to friendly or polite.

Regards Les

One option is to get a cheapish VCR and attach it to the TV where the
mirror box is. Then you can record the movies direct to tape on that
box, without needing to use your Sky+ at all, and without impinging on
your own viewing either

The blaringly obvious does not seem to register very quickly nowadays your subjection seems to solve on ongoing problem the video is in place, but alas the thought was not thanks for the wakeup call.
