Default Sky + Problem

I have had Sky + installed today and previously read about problems people
have had posted on here. I have had two main problems. while browsing the tv
guide it kept sticking and feezing, and at one point the tv guide played the
sound from channel 4 and froze.

I tried to record a film on Sky premiere which seemed to be going ok, i put
the box on standby and it was recording ok. I switched the box out of
standby mode about an hour into the recording and tried to watch a
different channel and the box switched itself off into standby mode and when
it come back on it was on the sky welcome channel. It then did this another
2 times !

Due to this im not only annoyed but have lost my recording.

Is this common, i knew there was faults but didnt know there was this many

Sounds like you've got a duff one. As you dont have anything recorded on it
yet you could always try a full reset (by paging to services at the top,
then 4 0 1 select, then select full system reset. If that doesn't do it get
the engineer back.

I had Sky+ installed on Wednesday and have done everything I can to recreate
the faults/problems that I've read about here, but I can't. Mine's not let
me down once yet. Is it broken?

I've used the EPG more than I ever did on my Pace Digibox and have had no
problems at all.

Am I the exception to the rule or am I heading for a fall?

Seems to be working ok now though .. To fix the EPG i did a full system
reset but i dont know why the box kept going into standby mode. Just see how
it goes i suppose and get sky out if it gets worse.

Had the same sort of problems when I got my first Sky+ box. Then I
noticed it was way behind on firmware (must've been on the dealer's
shelf for quite a while) so I did a system download, got the latest
firmware and it was then perfect after that.
