Hi
Just purchased a TV link (well a cheap generic one from Homebase) and found that when it is plugged in the remote works ok upstairs (via the tv link) but only very occasionally downstairs when pointed directly at the reciever. I have tried resets but these dont seem to work - is the tv link continuously emitting a signal to the digibox which prevents it from receving signals from with the downstairs remote? thanks for any advice andy |

Perhaps your cheap one is a bad design. -- Digibox problem? : A reboot solves 90% of these. I used to have that problem using my "one 4 all" remote control extender.
As an experiment, try switching the upstairs TV off and see if your remote then works downstairs. I discovered that the luminace of the upstairs TV picture was affecting the remote-control-extender. If you find that your remote control works reliably downstairs with the upstairs tv off, then reduce the contrast/brightness of the upstairs TV. That fixed it for me. I can have the upstairs TV on and the remote works both upstairs and downstairs. Brendan "Reefer Madness" wrote in message ... Brendan Just to add, my reply was based on the assumption that you are using an Infra-red remote control extender and NOT using the device which works using the co-ax cabling into the RF2 port on the back of the digibox. |

Sorry not to have explained clearly, the devices does use the RF2 port. could it be poor RF cabling? although the picture seems ok thanks for the advice |

Sorry not to have explained clearly, the devices does use the RF2 port. could it be poor RF cabling? Probably not. If the remote works fine in the lounge with the RF2 output unplugged, then I would take the TVlink back. The 3 I have (cheapo SL types) do not do this. |
