I do much video editing on my computer so have 3 x 120Gb, 7200rpm drives
in my machine. One is empty at the moment so I was thinking of trying it in my Sky+ box. The website that lists compatibile drives talks about using the HDD 'out of the box' My drives have obviously been FDisk'ed and formatted. Does anyone know if this will be a problem? I'm going to try it tonight when I get home if not. Thanks Dene |

From what I've read up to now 7200rpm drives won't work in Sky+ Apparantly, they seem to be OK in V2 boxes (which I have) and i'll post my findings tomorrow if someone can confirm that it will be OK to put in a pre-formatted drive. I'd imagine so then Dene..... If not simply the usual Services 4,0,1 Select and let Sky+ do the *Housekeeping* trick (Which I'd assume formats the HD to the boxes liking) It may just work straight from installing but if not I'd try the above method :-) |

I imagine the Full System Reset would take care of that, but if not you could always try deleting its partitions with fdisk (or similar) or even a low-level format. |

The Sky+ certainly doesn't require a high speed drive. -- Digibox problem? : A reboot solves 90% of these.
