I set Sky + to record John Doe on Sci Fi Monday night, made sure I had series link
selected, and even flagged it as 'Keep' to ensure I didn't accidentally delete it. However, it only recorded the *second* episode (9:00 - 10:00 PM). Is that just me or did others experience a problem? Thanks Steve T |

Thanks Steve T Can't help with your SKY+ question, seen the series already ![]() It is repeated this Friday, 7pm to 9pm so you won't miss the first episode unless it doesn't record again. You say SKY+ didn't record the 8pm episode, any indication why like a failed recording or missed start entry in the planner? Mike C |

You say SKY+ didn't record the 8pm episode, any indication why like a failed recording or missed start entry in the planner? No, absolutely no indication. I just went to the Sky + Planner and only the 9:00 entry was present. Not a clue as to why the 8:00 wasn't there. It's possible I set up the first recording -- and started the link -- on the second episode, but I *really* don't think I was stupid enough to do that. I posted hoping to see if it was just me, or if other Sky + users had the problem. Incidentally, thanks for the news about the repeat on Friday! That made me feel better. |

"Ken Fowler" wrote in message ... Not having sky+ myself, I am not sure how it works, but if I do renewal recording on my DVD & HDD recorder the second episode of a series is written over the space used for the first one? No, there's no renewal recording facility. Multiple episodes of a series accumulate on the hard disk. They're removed if you delete them, of course, and it's possible to configure the box to delete them automatically if you need the disk space -- but that's not likely what happened because (a) I had programs already viewed that were still on the box -- and my understanding is the delete algorithm will delete already viewed programs in preference to unviewed programs. (There's an exception to this -- for Sky Box Office recordings, viewed programs have a higher retention priority than unviewed programs) (b) I had marked the series as 'K'eep in any case, so that first recording should never have been deleted automatically. If the box didn't have sufficient disk space, then the second recording should've failed, not the first. Cheers Steve T |

"STEVE9091UK" wrote in message ... thats all right it was rubbish anyway. After seeing both episodes on Friday, I'm thinking you might be right. I'll give it a few more viewings -- I want to see how they work the woman in the Middle East into the story. |
