Default FTV-ers - Get FTV P2 cards for £5 one-off fee

For everyone who have lost ITV1, C4 and five due to the switching off of

P1
FTV cards - do the following:

http://www.pouttv.co.uk./

Register your old FTV card for £5 and it will say "registration failed"
Please call 0870 xxx xxxx. Ignore this message, and 2-3 days later, a new
FTV card will arrive. Insert and enjoy (pardon the phrasing). All it will
cost you is the £5 once off registration fee. You never have to buy any

PPV
trash and you will keep ITV1, CV4 and five.

Just thought I'd share that with you all.

Regards,

Simon

great tip simon

one quick question - does the card arrive with a lot of soft-porn trade
literature... (for want of a better word)?

'best to warn the missus. : )

ta again

No, the card arrives from Sky in standard Sky packaging with a cover letter
apologising about your "faulty card". The only clue it's from Pout is the
phone number printed on the back of the card. However, Pout are likely to
send you a bunch of junk mail if you don't tick the appropriate box when
you're signing up.

Would it be possible for me to ring pout and give the number from my old
viewing card.( New one came months ago ! ) Would I then recieve another card
which I could use as a "Freeview" card, or would Sky say, that I have
already recieved a new card and refuse sending out another one ??
I have 2 Digiboxes and only one subscription, but I want ITV 4 and 5 on my
second box !
Would this work, or have $ky already thought of that one ?

Others have reported that the Pout registration actually succeeds if
you try to do it a second time, and you are charged the £5
registration fee. It is unclear whether or not you get a new card,
but my guess is that they simply activate the new card they've
already sent for use with Pout. I'm about to try this myself, I'll
let you know how it goes.

Unfortunately, the message this time reads as follows:

"Your registration details have been processed successfully.

Activation of the service should be within the hour, although, can sometimes
take up to 24 hours."

Me too, I tried it as an experiment using an old v1 card number that I used
last week and for which they have already sent a replacement v2 type.
Oh well, only cost me a fiver ... Thanks to pout I already have 2 new type
cards.

I might be thick, but why bother to activate the new card for Pout when
it arrives? My new one arrived after a failed Pout registration, and
works fine with the free channels WITHOUT any further registration to
Pout.

Am I missing something here?

Do you have to keep the box connected to the phone line with the new card. The
registration page asks for the phone number. My second box is nowhere near the
phone line, and never has been.

From what I have heard some new cards only decode ITV/C4/C5 etc after
they have been activated by re-registering with Pout. I guess it could
be something to do with whether it was an old BBC card or an old Sky
card.
