Default Sky+ recording two programmes

I have come accross a couple of things mentioning the ablility to record two
programmes at one on Sky+ (as well as live pause). Is this available? I
have an original Sky+ box and I have noticed that there is a new box out
now, is it any different? Can I only record two things at once with the new
Sky + box? Help!!!

Ta,

Mark

its been available for age's, what you have to do is, insert your credit
card into the interactive card slot, enter your pin & select purchase dual
record and bingo ;o)

It's not with us yet, hopefully very soon now. There are no important
differences between the two boxes featurewise. Both versions will be
able to record two programmes at once.

surely you can record two progs now, as long as one is the prog you are

watching and use live pause.
When the new software arrives you will probably only be able to record what
you are watching and one other prog so whats new ?..........critcher

Dual recording will allow you to record one channel from tuner1 and record
one channel from tuner2 whilst playing back a previous recording.

You can schedule two recordings that overlap in the planner.

....and, you'll be able to record two consecutive programs without the end of
the first appearing on the start of the second (or vice versa).

Because, sometimes people do this: Go out. Instead of watching
television. Do you see?

The new software for Sky+ will be downloaded by the box automatically, and
it doesn't matter which Sky+ box that you have. However, you seem to be
asking whether this new feature will allow you to record two seperate
channels AND watch & pause a third channel, all at the same time. The answer
is 'no'.

The Sky+ box (both versions) has two tuners, therefore it can tune to a
maximum of two channels at any one time. The new feature therefore allows
you to record up to two channels at any one time, and at the same time you
can either watch one of these channels or watch a pre-recorded programme.
You CANNOT record two channels and watch a third.

Richard.
