I think you will find that this onl;y works with ex subscription
cards p1 , if you have a solus P1, sky wouldn't have your address to
send out the card

No, this is with Solus cards. It seems that "Sky Subscriber Services Ltd."
(SSSL) were responsible for issuing these FTV cards.

I signed up yesterday morning, and I was expecting to see a
different message appear on the screen...(Thought I have read
somewhere that the message changes after sign-up to something
about not being authorised, but it hasn't happened here. Should I
get a different message to the the standard 'Your viewing of some
channels will soon cease'.. etc etc The sign-up failed according
to the website.... Comments?

I'm getting the same "not authorised" message that others reported,
but only after I left that card in the switched-on digibox
overnight.

Since you signed up, have you lost ITV1, C4, and five? Is it these
channels that are reporting the 'not authorised' message?

Tony

Does the phone line have to be connected after doing the online
registration in order to get the new card?

No.

I cant understand why a
FTV card cannot be replaced with this method..

It can.

I genuinely would like
to subscribe to Pout TV, and don't appear to be able to do so.

I have yet to try this.

Well it looks like the rules must have changed then, cos I ain't got any
'not authorised' message on ITV1 and I have tried the sign up twice now.
Perhaps they have changed the system. : - ((

The FTV card number starts with 089, is this a problem?

Should I ring them up and ask why it doesn't work...

All it will cost you is the £5 once off registration fee.

This is true, except for the fact that it is false.

So what else will it cost?

i think he means you dont usuaally have to pay anything:-) just wait for
the registration to fail.

What is to stop them from charging the 5 pounds after they have sent
out the new card?

What law? You undertake to pay £5 registration fee when you sign up.
Why shouldn't they charge it?

Because they don't provide the service. I'm no law expert, but I'm pretty
sure companies aren't allowed to charge you for a service unless they
actually provide it.

They certainly are providing the service. The service is registration
for Pout. You are registered when you phone and ask to be, so they can
bill you for it. The card is provided free of charge by Sky.

Yes, but the whole point of this is that the initial registration with
Pout fails because of the out of date card. That triggers Sky to send
you a new card. At that point you have to phone Pout to register with
the new card, you can't access Pout with the new card until you do so.

At least that's my understanding of the situation...
