Apparently this works

For everyone who have lost ITV1, C4 and five due to the switching off of P1
FTV cards - do the following:

http://www.pouttv.co.uk

Register your old FTV card for £5 and it will say "registration failed"
Please call 0870 xxx xxxx. Ignore this message, and 2-3 days later, a new
FTV card will arrive. Insert and enjoy (pardon the phrasing). All it will
cost you is the £5 once off registration fee. You never have to buy any PPV
trash and you will keep ITV1, CV4 and five.

Just thought I'd share that with you all.

Regards,

Simon

You don't actually get charged this £5 fee. The new card is sent to you
totally free of charge. I wish people would stop propagating this
misinformation.

The fact that they send the replacement cards out at all is probably a
loophole that will soon be plugged. The fact that they currently don't
even charge the £5 fee is surely an error.

I would be more inclined to say that the most that it can cost is £5
if you get a card, and the least that it can cost is £0 if you don't
get a card or if they forget to charge you.

Why not?
I got as far as the "registration failed" message.
Now remains to be seen whether the new card arrives at my contact's
address.

Thanks. That's exactly what I meant. I thought I had been clear.
