Default David Blaine at it again

From Ananova:

"David Blaine is to spend six weeks without food in a clear-plexi glass
box by the River Thames.

The magician will be suspended from a crane in the box, just seven feet
deep, seven feet long and three feet wide.

He'll have no food, no communication and no distractions of any kind. He
will be tube-fed water and have a waste tube to urinate.

Last year Blaine stood on a 100ft high pole in New York for 35 hours and
in another stunt encased himself in six tons of ice for three days.

But this is the first time he's ever attempted a major stunt outside of
the US. He said: "My next performance will demonstrate these ideas
through the most extreme exercise in isolation and physical deprivation
ever attempted. There will be no trickery and no means of escape."

Sky One will be showing the event live as he enters the glass box on
Friday 5th September at 8pm and live on Sunday 19th October at 9pm when
he completes his challenge.

Sky One will be streaming live coverage of the event continuously on its
Active service, which can be accessed by Sky digital subscribers by
pressing the red button.

Channel 4 will be streaming the whole event live on a special website
and will be filming the event for broadcast as part of their Magic Month
season in October."

Yeah, well done Sky. Streaming a guy sat in a box for 6 weeks, great TV

I like to think of myself as not being too gullable, but who says it was
fake and if so, what was the trickery?
He was in front of the cameras all the way through it - how could he have
cheated?

very hour the ice was blasted with "dry ice" to "keep it cool". Actually,
to allow him to swap via the trapdoor with the body double below.

ah! , someones been watching "Worlds greatest magic tricks revealed" or
whatever it's called on Sky1 ! , apparenty according to that program all
these magic levitations are done with fork lift trucks! ...which instead of
smootly gliding into the air, made the assistant wobble all over the place
in their "reconstruction", hmm !

Couldn't that be "in the River Thames" ? At least then we wouldn't have to
look at the stupid idiot for six weeks.

Er... not i.

But actually, all Blaine does in his street magic is a Balducci levitation-
google it for info on how it works. However, the **** does use complete
camera tricks in his tv representation of this.

Wait, you mean he doesn't really levitate?!?!?!

Seriously, the fact it's all a *trick* shouldn't surprise anyone.

Nothing wrong with doing a balducci levitation.

Plenty wrong with using a camera edit to achieve levitation.

Aren't ALL tricks fake?

Do you really believe a magician can actually saw people in half and put
them back together again?
It is probably nothing more than a very clever illusion.
