Let me get this straight. If I rewind to the start of a program I can

only
watch it there and then and NOT record it as well?

Presumably you could record it onto video?

LOL! Kinda defeats the object really, doesn't it! ;-)

Not if you want to watch it later rather than at the time.

You can only copy onto video someting that has been recorded into the
Personal Planner. Stuff that is simply held in the pause/rewind live
TV buffer isn't loaded into the personal planner, so it can't be
copied to video. But it *is* a kind of (limited) facility to record
two things at once. You can pause live TV while recording another
channel.

I didn't mean copy it to video later - I meant to make the Sky+ think
you were watching it (as buffered/live), but record it on the VCR
instead.

I don't think it works that way, although I've never tried it, I would
think that the VCR will record the signal from the tuner (ie, what's
being broadcast "live"), rather than what your TV is actually
displaying. Might be worth a try though.

Whatever is being shown on the screen can be recorded to video, as
you're watching it. So you could rewind to the beginning of the
programme, then set the video recording while you watch it (or go
somewhere else and don't watch it). Not ideal perhaps, but a
solution. Saving the paused buffer is one of the things that is
rumoured to be on the development list, along with dual recording.
Believe it'll happen when you see it...

Just trying to help :-) Actually, I misunderstood your question - I
thought you just wanted to watch it - not record it.

Rubbish!

copied to video.

Of course it can - just like any live programme - even before Sky+

No worries mate - I appreciated the help anyway! :-)
