What should I do next? Phone egg?? Sho' 'nuff! 08451 233 233 You'd think they'd have a freephone number. Tell them all about it (although the guy in the fraud dept knew a lot more than me). |

APPRIA40WR wrote: They are now saying that wbsale.com did not set up a recurrent charge and that the only way they could of gotten my new card number was they went back into my DVDPacific account and pinched it once I updated my card number. That's a bit worrying if true. That is worrying. Did you contact dvdpacific about this and what did they say? No, I've not contacted them as my head hurts and I can't gurantee my dates. I know this: 9 August: Phone call from back saying problem with card. Card cancelled. 13 August: Used new card number (I didn't actually possess the card) used at DVDPacific and they took the money same day. Same day I updated my account details of course with the new card. I'm not sure when I changed the account password. If I get time I will try and work back and do the dates. My bank were in absolutely no doubt because I wasn't the first case with the double charge. |

By just telling them about the double charge they might already have knowledge that could explain things one way or the other. Going from the last time, they were very grateful anytime I contacted them with info or questions or (at that time) words of support. I believe I haven't used them since then -not out of fear though -I just haven't bought that many dvds. This new info would certainly make me think twice -or thrice- though. -Kevin. -- Reply to: |

The thought of APPRIA40WR cajoles my mind into reminiscing about the smell
of poppy seeds and the image of morning dew making uk.media.dvd glint in the crisp autumn rays of a mature sun. Looks like I'll be stopping using Egg.com Bingo! ... |I have another £300 charge this morning -on a NEW reissued card with a NEW number. | | Phoned my bank and they've said they will have to block the card again but they could NOT stop | further charges from wbsale.com (or anyone else) if it's a 'recurring charge'. They offered me | ANOTHER new card but admitted any charge to my original card would STILL appear if it was a | 'recurring charge'. "So what's the point of issuing it"? I asked the guy. It's "One of 3 options". I | asked "What's the other 2 options?" - he said "Not blocking the card" and "Do nothing and use the | card as normal". Not great options. | | They've said it could take 90 days to sort. I'm still waiting on my old £280 refund which has not | been given back and has never appeared online but they 'have a copy of it'. How the ****ers can | charge me when I can't see the charge is beyond me. | | Looks like I'll be stopping using Egg.com as they have been ****ing about with this since 8 August. | | | www.dvdpacific.com has caused me a lot of bother lately. | For your interest - my egg is on hold too! Reduction in benefits and increase in costs. Go look at Capital One *Circle* card. It is the only card I know that ofers a permanent 1 % cashback on all purchases. If you spend as much as I do on my c/c, it seems sensible to get some 'bonus' money back. No free 6 months balance transfer but - who cares as you can't actually USE a card used for transfer anyway (as you only pay off the balance, not the new purchases which they carge at full rate!) You won't find they advertise the Circle card - a hidden secret it seems! |

I have another £300 charge this morning -on a NEW reissued card with a NEW
number. Arse! Just checked my statement online, and I've had 2 transactions from wbsale.com #1 on 6th September for $400 USD = £231.69 #2 on 22nd September for $417 USD = £239.18 I had the diage.com transaction back in August ... so I wonder if that was just a test-run for these ones. Oh well, on the phone to HSBC's fraud department again first thing in the morning! Rotor |
