When you say 'really bad' what do you mean? Artifacts? What size is the screen? Is it 'rally bad' on all channels? colours are really faded, on pretty much all the channels... also, when you get scrolling text it is 'fuzzy' and usually unreadable. i knew digital tv was rubbish, but a projector really highlights it! My projector show up some hideous stuff on Sky (s-video), but some channels are much better/worse than others. how are you doing the s-video - is it direct out of the box, or via a scart adaptor? Text can be a bit fuzzy, but I can't say I've noticed it being really hideous. how are you doing the s-video - is it direct out of the box, or via a scart adaptor? Straight from s-video out on the box to the projector (not via scart). hmmm my box doesnt have s-video out... i have to use an adaptor - could that be the problem? |

I also have an X1, and you're right, the setup you describe is very poor. I did a little bit of research and got an RGB to component convertor from Keane electronics APTUS1 RGB TO COMPONENT CONVERTOR; Ref : APT1 80 sterling you also need a special adaptor, component to (special) s-video, this connects to the s-video port on the X1 but it carries the full component picture quality. I got this from www.bhpphotovideo.com for about 15 dollars The difference is only amazing - especially for footie and SKY movies.. While you're at it you should also get a component to vga adaptor from bhp - get a DVD player that supports component out with progressive scan adaptor - about 15 dollars dvd player 50 sterling and up You will now be using the best inputs on the X1 - as you saw when you had the laptop connected - it is an excellent projector.
