Default TV connections setup

I have just bought a Sony KL-50W2, which has loads more connections
that I want to make use of. It has 3 scarts (2 orange for some reason)
and 3 s-video connections, plus others.

1. What is the best way of connecting the DVD player to the TV?
(scart or s-video?) (I have Pioneer 656 and a Marantz SR5300
receiver).

2. What would be the best way of connecting the NTL (digital) box? It
only has 2 scarts at the back, so a simple scart-scart cable or
perhaps scart-svideo?

Full TV spec can be found on:

http://www.techtronics.com/uk/shop/8...screen-tv.html

Many thanks.

the orange ones work with RGB - so you want to connect the dvd player to one
of those - making sure you go into the dvd player setup and set it to RGB.
if the cable box can output RGB then do the same with the other orange
scart.

I have the same TV. Nice innit?

My connections are as follows:

DVD (RGB) - SKY Digibox (RGB OUT) - TV Scart #1 Set for RGB input.

DVD (S-VIDEO) - TV Input #4 on S-VIDEO (some times a Macrovision
protected DVD wont play properly via RGB and I need to use S-Video)

VCR (Composite) - TV Scart #2 (which is set to pass through Composite
Signal from Scart #1 [SKY Digibox outputs RGB and composite
simultaneously so I can loop through the composite via TV back to VCR).

As far as I know, only SCART #1 is RGB enabled.

I would have thought that after a year the OP may have got it sorted by
now ;-)
