Default Help with video connections to plasma TV

I am looking at buying a plasma TV and am pretty sure I will purchase the
Panasonic TH-42PWD6UY. As I have been reading and catching up on Home
Theater 'Technology' I have become confused about the video connections.
The TV has a 5-BNC component input. My progressive scan DVD player has a
3-RCA output.

Should I buy:
1) a 3-RCA to 3-BNC cable?
2) a 3-RCA to 3-RCA cable with 3 RCA-BNC adaptors?
3) a 3-RCA to 3-RCA cable and an optional 3-RCA component video terminal
board?
4) something else I've missed?

I am completely befuddled by all of this.

Is the 5-BNC input just a component input or a RGB/Component input?
If it's an RGB/Component 5 BNC input, then maybe it can be manually
switched to either RGB or Component.
For RGB I'd imagine that the 5 BNC input would be Red, Green, Blue,
Horizontal Sync, and Vertical Sync.
I'm saving up for an RGB Pro Broadcast Monitor myself for my classic
videogame systems so I'm no expert on BNC type inputs(since none of my
current monitors or tvs have them), but I have done some research.
Maybe those last 2 BNC inputs in the 5BNC input are just vertical and
horizontal sync for RGB only and maybe those last 2 aren't used at all
when the 5bnc input is switched to the component mode.
I think you should just buy 1 of these 3 rca to 3 bnc component cables
and maybe see if they let you test it out at the store by hooking up a
progressive scan dvd player to the demo model of the plasma screen
you're going to buy.
If you're going to be forking over several Gs, that's the least they
can do for you.
This is pretty complex stuff really, I mean bnc type video inputs are
mainly used on pro rgb studio monitors and pro computer monitors like
SG pro monitors.
