Default Need to switch 1 SCART input between 2 devices

I want to switch the output from my satellite receiver between my TV and the
DV input on my Mac. Basically it involves 1 SCART lead from sat box to two
scart leads connecting TV & Mac. All the SCART switchboxes I have seen switch
multiple inputs to one output, not the other way around.

I already have a Quintro+ which I use to route all my other devices, and it
does have a second RGB/S-Video enabled output, but I found the output gives me
a dimmer picture, just like you would get with a basic SCART switch feeding
two devices simultaneously from the same source.

Currently I am plugging and unplugging the SCARTS to route the signal, but
obviously this is not a long term solution! I know a switchable SCART selector
would work since I get exactly the signal I need from manually hotplugging.

Any ideas, folks?

Many thanks.

http://www.js-technology.com/ Used to make a buffered SCART box . It had
one scart input which was divided into two outputs. Self contained power
supply. No switching involved. If JS no longer supply you might find one
second-hand.

Richard.

Many thanks, Richard. The key was finding the correct terminology - your
description led me to find 'SCART Distribution Amplifier' which I was then
able to use as a search term in Google. I found what I was looking for, only
it is not switched, but apparently provides two identical, high quality outputs.

Yes, but it is just a switch!, so it works either way round.

Have a look on Maplins web site.
