I've just bought a new Sony KV32FX68 and connected it up to my DVD, VCR and
the Telewest cable box all via their own SCART leads to the proper SCART sockets on the TV. The Telewest box is set for RGB as is the SCART on the Sony. I've tried the Telewest box in Composite mode also but the picture still shows horizontal 'lines' and is quite grainy. The picture is superb on the DVD, VCR, and even the normal TV aerial input. it's only the Telewest box which gives this problem. Any thoughts on this please? Cheers, JB |

Cheers, I've got the Sony KV32FX65 and it only has one RGB scart - AV1. Try changing telewest box to AV1 to see if that fixes your problem. You then need to daisy chain as much of your RGB kit through to AV1 as you can - or get a scart switcher. HTHs |

Is your Telewest box plugged into AV3 ? |

Seems it doesn't update the new setup without a reboot. cheers, JB |

Cheers, JB I have a Philips 32PW9527 Pixel Plus and find the "Tele-waste" picture horrendous at the best of times. I too have mine SCART connected in AV1 which can handle RGB and CVBS. (although I am thinking of ditching their lead in favour of a more upmarket one). DVD picture is superb and Gamecube rocks mightly in third socket. Out of interest how did you set the Telewest box for RGB as I am now wondering if thats where my problems lie? Andy_D |

Thank you so much for this. I went into the TV Guide and choose the Settings option, then into Display. Set it to RGB and it clicked over straight away, didn't need a reboot. MY GOD! What a difference, the picture is so full of life now, even the menu looks good - LOL! Also found the Widescreen movie setting - now set to Widescreen! Thanks again and good luck with the Sony... "Xbase" wrote in message ... Is the box set to 16x9 wide screen? Auto-format, but it doesn't seem to matter even putting it to 4:3 is lousy. Now I have RGB it is much better, less distortion and cross checking. Going to watch closely this weekend just to make sure :OD Andy_D |
