Default Best arrangement for SCART sockets

Hi
I own a Sony KV-28LS36U. This has 1 RGB and 1composite SCART socket. I
have just bought an Acoustic Research SCART box from Argos, because the
page on their web site says
The SCART socket automatically detects the last piece of hardware to
be turned on and will allow your TV to automatically switch to that
device.
I've not set it up yet), but the instructions go on about a manual
switch also. So will it be automatic or not?

All I have is a VCR, Freeview box, DVD player and PS2. It was my
intention to have everything going into the RGB for quality purposes -
hence the reason for a switch - and preferably automatic since we have
enough remote controls as it is

However I can live with manual for when we play the PS2 so can share
this with something. Can someone please advise the best configuration
of SCART connections to go for

I've just tried the device and it will never switch to the digi box if
switched on. I've decided to go for manual for if I put a DVD on I will
be down there anyway. Same for switching on the PS2

Hi Mike,

I'm thinking of buying a scart switchbox from argos.

My TV has only 2 scart inputs - one of them is rgb (which my digi box
is connected to) and the other is s-video(which my dvdplayer is
currently using). I wiould like my dvd player to share the rgb scart
input of my TV with the digibox. In this regard I was thinking of
buying the Acoustic Research Electronic SCART Block which, according
to the argos web site "automatically detects the last piece of
hardware to be turned on and will allow your TV to automatically
switch to that device". I think this is the piece of kit you bought -
how has ii worked in practise for you? Does it automatically detect as
between your dvd player and digibox (please note I don't have a games
box and will not be using the switchbox for that function).

Man, many thanks,
Clifford
