Hi all,
Before I actually get a freeview box, is there any recommended connection set up to allow AV receiver / Home cinema set up? I am trying to get my head round how I would plug in the freeview box. e.g. "Freeview box SCART out to AV amp, AV amp video out to TV" kind of thing. Any thoughts? Cheers Philip . |

Hi Gary,
Thanks for the suggestions, Cheers Philip "Gary Lightfoot" wrote in message ... Hi Phil, what I tend to do with my tv, is run all the video/audio connections that are via scart to the tv, then use the tv's own stereo output to my amp. Whenever I change input on the tv, such as av1, av2 etc, the sound automatically gets routed to the amp, so I never have to worry about switching with the amp. The only exception is for DVD, where I run the coax digital to the amp from the player. The only change I have to do for DVD, is switch from 'aux' to 'dvd' on the amp. Even then, I could still listen in stereo if I wanted (though I never do of course). HTH Gary. |

When the DVD player is on the amp selects the digital audio as there's a signal. When the DVD is off (well, in standby) the amp selects stero signal from the TV. Even less switching to do! It does need an A/V amp that will auto select a digital signal if there is one and fall back to analogue if not though. I have a Panasonix SXR15 which (I believe) does auto detect which out of the
digital signals is present (2 out of possible 3 - 2x opt & 1x coax) So a Pace DT210F with digital out would be a good one. Thanks for the ideas. For what I want to do. I connect the DVD digital out to the DVD in (digital connection )on the A/V amp and the TV (or STB) ANALOGUE out to the same DVD in (analogue connection) on the A/V amp. Thus when the DVD is off the amp will select the analogue sound signal from the TV (or STB) and when the DVD is on the amp will select the digital sound signal from the DVD. Thanks for the ideas.
