Default LCD, Plasma or CRT and wait

Hi

This has probably been done to death but the technology seems to be changing
all the time.

My parents want a nice new telly in the January sales, should they:

a) get a plasma screen
b) get a LCD screen
c) get a conventional widesceen tv and wait for prices of a) and b) to fall
in the future

Cheers

Phil

Are your folks concerned with pic quality or just generic TV watching? Can
they afford a good quality LCD/Plasma screen? Do they know the advantages
and disadvantages of each system or are you doing the shopping for them?
What's their budget if any? How long is a piece of string?

Phil - lacking info!
How big is their room and how important is 'space saving'?
What size suits them?
What do they watch, how good is their vision (anticipating old folk)?
Do they watch for long periods, during day or evening, DVD or TV?
What is ambient lighting for the room?
Do they want to use it for a computer?

Your original post is an empty ,daft, and lazy question - rather like
"should i buy a 6m or 12m tax disk for my car" without any other
information!
