Default connections, connections!

Ok, just decided to sell my datavideo copy box and now looking at ways to
rewire my TV,DVD,SKY and VCR "properly"

I dont need to copy from DVD to VHS anymore so what's the best way to
connect everything up so I can still record SKY to VHS and watch DVD's?

TV has 2 Scarts
VCR has 2 Scarts
Sky has 2 Scarts
DVD has 2 Scarts

VCR Scart 1 - sky scart 2
Sky scart 1 - tv scart 1

DVD scart 1 - tv scart 2

This assumes both TV scarts are RGB capable

if not...

VCR Scart 1 - sky scart 2
Sky scart 1 - DVD scart 2
DVD scart 1 - tv scart 1

Sky(1) DVD(2) : DVD(1) TV(1)
Sky(2) VCR(2) : VCR(1) TV(2)

Note that this may still cause problems if you attempt to watch DVDs
and record from Sky at the same time (i.e. it may autoswitch to the
Sky box). Check the manual of your DVD player if you want to do this.

Assuming the DVD has RGB loop through (as ours does) you could do what
we do:

TV - DVD - SKY - VCR

When the DVD is on you'll see it's picture, when in standby it will
loop through the SKY picture and sound. When the VCR is playing the
SKY box should loop through the VCR picture and sound.
