I've read here several times that replacing dried-out caps in an IRD can fix noise problems (audio and video noise). I opened up my Uniden and there are about 100 caps. What section in particular are you talking about, and which caps in that section? |

I have done this to a couple of IRD's and it makes a world of
difference. I concentrate mainly on replacing the electrolytic caps in the power supply and most of the time it fixes the problem. You may also want to replace the electrolytics in the downconverter as they will probably cause you problems somewhere down the road.
