Default Question about buying refurbished Projector Lamps

I ran across a site that will take your bad metal halide lamps and
replace the bulb at a much lower cost then buying new.

Does anyone know this website, i misplaced it?

thanks

I don't know how you refurbish a light bulb. I would be very suspect of any
bulb that isn't new.

Many video projector lamps are a larger assembly of which the bulb is just
one part. Normally, when you replace the bulb, you have to buy the whole
enchilada.

Unless you get one that explodes and the pattern destroys some or even all

of
your mirrors. Then that wouldn't be worth it I would think.

found it:

Basically the lamp assembly is what costs a lot, and its just the
small metal halide bulb in the center that goes bad. These small
metal halide bulbs are like 50 bucks or so. If the reflector is still
good, just re-cement in a new MH bulb and you have a brand new lamp.
