You can't have it both ways. You cant fret that Tivo could go out of
business, and then try to help it down that path by being unwilling to pay for Guide Data that makes a Tivo a Tivo with its wish lists and I do pay for the guide data. And a TiVo is a DVR. And like a good DVR it should work manually if you don't have the guide data. The fact that it does not, makes it bad. |

I pay the monthly DirecTV DVR service fee and have confidence that if guide data is no longer provided, my TiVo will get an update to allow manual recordings. If you think that might not happen, you shouldn't purchase a TiVo. BTW, my manual recordings are queued in the To Do list without program names when the scheduled program is not yet showing in the program guide. |
