holiday to give them a four day weekend, and it is also traditionally the day that people start buying for Christmas. Hmm, I don't think they would be very popular if they were selling something
like that at any price without warning people. at least back in the 80s when Curries sold off a lot of Spectrum +3 computers cheap, the only fault was distorted sound, and that was easily fixed by replacing a resistor on the pcb. I would have thought that tradesmen would be keen to turn up on your doorstep on the first working day after Christmas, pull their forelocks, wish you a grudging 'Merry Christmas' and shuffle their feet awaiting their Christmas 'box'.
