Now now, just because you're 50 there's no need to start sounding like me.

It is the Friday after Thanksgiving which most people take as

Next Monday has a similar name - missing from the brain at the
moment - when web shopping for Christmas starts, mainly over
here!

Cyber Monday, sometimes known as Mega Monday.

US shops opening on Thanksgiving Day itself have led to the term Grey
Thursday.

A 99 quid TV with a reputation for PSU failures after some months that cause voltages spikes on the HDMI outputs, damaging connected equipment. Think I'll pass on that one!

It comes from the USA. John Lewis are copying. They have a sale promotion
today - The item I was considering buying was not included.

Green shoots week perhaps?

Black pudding day for the north?

Whippit Day for the Pikeys

What about recycling day, ie you take your old crap to Curries they allow
you some money off a new laptop, and then sell your crap on Ebay.

It's the USA equivalent of the boxing day sales - In the US it follows
thanksgiving rather than Xmas

Hmm, I don't think they would be very popular if they were selling something
like that at any price without warning people. at least back in the 80s when
Curries sold off a lot of Spectrum +3 computers cheap, the only fault was
distorted sound, and that was easily fixed by replacing a resistor on the
pcb. Obviously nobody wanted to pay for that.
