Another Freesat from Sky query
I asked on here a few weeks ago if a Sky HD card with F-f-S
viewing card would get the HD channels, to which of course the answer was yes. Now another two questions: I have the option of a second room Sky HD box that does not have recording capabilities (we don't need.) (a) Will that box work stand-alone without the main box and (b) does it need a viewing card of its own (indeed does it have a card slot) or does it rely on comms with the main box for verification? I have had more than one working ok, of course you will not get correct
regional programs with no card. I assume you have a duel or quad output LNB. Regards David |

Regards David No, it's for my elderly Father in Law. He lives in an area where he can only get Freeview Lite but pre DSO his signal was so poor I set him up with Freesat from Sky - which he enjoys enormously. He has now (at long last) got a new TV which is full HD so I thought about getting him a used Sky HD box which I know will work with his viewing card. I have the opportunity of a second room HD box (instead of a full SkyHD box) and I know they don't record. What I need to know is if that box will work on its own - it doesn't have to have a primary box to work with - and if it will take and use a viewing card. When you asked about the dual LNB it clicked. I assume I am right in thinking that a second room box with a viewing card will work as a non-record HD box? -- Woody harrogate three at ntlworld dot com |

I don't watch 5 any more because I would only get it in SD, so ******** to it. Paul tells me that he hears that from customers. I remember when people who'd paid for colour sets wouldn't watch b/w progs. It's the same. Are they going to be on the new muxes in HD? Bill |
