Query on freesat
Can anyone tell me, will a Sky HD box show the FTA and FTV HD
channels on a Freesat-from-Sky card (or its HD equivalent) without having to pay a Sky subscription? My elderly F-in-L lives in an area of Sheffield where he can only get Freeview Lite, so I fixed him up with a s/h Sky box and F-f-S card. He is very happy with it but tends to watch some of the less glorious channels - Thomas Cook Travel and things like that. He really needs a new TV and it would be daft to buy one now not capable of full HD, but if I get one with internal freesat or use a Freesat HD box he will loose all of these additional channels that he likes. It will only complicate things to use a Freesat TV and retain the old Sky box even assuming the TV has a SCART, so a Sky HD box that can show FTA/FTV HD without sub would seem to me to be the answer. Any thoughts anyone? -- Woody harrogate three at ntlworld dot com |
