+1 Helps when recording programmes clash.

+12 would be even better for that problem, but I guess they want
at least some live viewers. ;-)

Repeat showings dodge about so much between channels these days
that I have finally found a use for the search function on my PVR
EPG.

I solve most of my clashes by resorting to the +4 and +8 option that
seems to be provided on BBC4, all I have to watch out for is the
repeats with signing. Failing that I can usually wait for the +3 days
or +n weeks repeats.

Actually, it's just more wasted broadcast spectrum.

It won't be HD though.

On the day when England's youth came 21st out of 24 countries in
numeracy, nobody realised that BBC1+1 launched in 1964. ;-)

Or just wait for BBC2 which seems to have turned into a +30 years or
even +40 years channel.

The reports on that issue on Calendar and Look North were a bit weird.
West Yorkshire came out of the survey very badly, and the reason for
this, that many kids there don't speak English at home, wasn't
mentioned. But both programmes chose to illustrate the problem by
visiting schools where there were very few indigenous kids. It was
almost as if the editorial was at odds with itself.

It was inevitable given the existence of ITV+1, but I wonder which bit of
spectrum they are going to waste? Does anyone know if BBC1+1 is going in
PSB1, or PSB3, or one of the new ones, Mutiplex 7 or Multiplex 8 ?
