Just come back from the pharmacist where I noticed a "Digital Pain
Reliever" on the shelf.

Is this what is needed to solve all our problems?

Probably not ... To apply it you'd have to reboot the patient ...

If it's like this one, it has a digital display and no doubt has some
digital electronics inside:

Oh yes, all things to all men and women, a bit like the electric shock
devices sold back at the turn of the century to ease almost all ills.
To be fair, some can be used to block nerve impulses and create the
illusion of no pain. some find they work, some don't. Tens machines are the
most common.

I'm sure they have other uses of a less medical nature though. I came across
an article a few years ago entitled Pervertables, whitten by a woman, say no
more.

That is the chappie I had used on me for back pain, it actually made it hurt
more, but strangely acupuncture worked amazingly well, though the needles in
the back of the ankles stung a bit at first. This is another way to break
the spasm/pain more spasm cycle by confusing the nervous system at crucial
pathways.
It is however rather inconvenient as the patient needs to be laid on their
front and naked to insert the needles, so a machine that can emulate this
could be rather handy.

It will be one of these. They do work in appropriate cases.

I'll lay you tens that it wont.
I've been looking at this for relief of tendonitis and hip pain that the
consultant said that a hip replacement would not solve.
The manager of our local pharmacy was told the same by his consultant
but neither of us could be given a reason for our pain.

Anyone here tried such a device?
