Humax 1TB Freeview recorder and wifi
With the dongle plugged into the back of the box the picture flashes all
the time and the wifi won't connect. With the dongle on a 0.5m extension cable everything works fine. Any ideas? Bill |

Less pickup of interference generated inside the box? I often wonder how internal TV tuner cards work inside computers. I've got a Hauppauge card, and on analogue TV, you could certainly see the interference. Of course, you don't see it on digital signals. It's more-or-less unusable on FM radio (although, admittedly, I've not tried it on a really good aerial). -- Ian |

Bill My guess would be the wifi dongle is leaking some level of RF signal back up the USB, and the 0.5m lead adds enough capacitance to attenuate the leakage below the level where the box is affected by it. |
