SOT (somewhat off-topic) - How to specify start time in Listen Again?
With YouTube, you can specify the time into the recording when it starts
playing by adding #t=xmym to the end of the url (where 'x' and 'y' are the number of minutes and seconds from the start). I thought you could do the same for the BBC 'Listen Again' urls - but it doesn't work. However, I'm sure that you can do something similar. Can anyone remember what it is? -- Ian |

PA I want to be able to specify a url link to a Listen Again website, so that when anyone clicks on it, it opens where the item of interest is (and not at the very beginning). For example, if there's something I want to point someone to in the morning 'Today' programme, I don't want it to start at 6am, and they then have to fiddle around with the progress slider in order to find the start of something (say) starting at 8:45am. It's obviously a convenience, rather than a necessity, but it's a handy thing to be able to do. -- Ian |

Ah, thanks. That seems to work. It's the same as YouTube, except the '#' is a '?'. I'll try it on the Listen Again radio item I want to refer people to. -- Ian |

Do you know that in YouTube (on a PC at least) you can right click on the progress bar at the appropriate time and get a URL for that moment? Dunno if it works for iplayer or not. Tim |

It works for YouTube (certainly with Firefox). I had forgotten about that facility. Right click, and you get the option of "Copy video URL at current time". You can copy and paste the URL, which now has the 'time into' (in seconds) added to the end (eg #t=107s). It doesn't work with either the radio or TV iPlayer. -- Ian |

Maybe you could download it and then edit the audio so you only get the bit you want. Then upload it somewhere. |
