Yes, I had a Panasonic VCR more than twenty years ago which let you do that. It could also be set up to record TV picture and stereo (hifi) sound from an FM tuner - very useful for "simultaneous broadcasts" before NICAM became available. |

Being strictly accurate, ideally you should be able to listen to the music, or whatever, *through* the loudspeakers, without hearing the loudspeakers at all. Rod. |

I'm looking at one now - been transferring some VHS stuff after fixing it. It's an FS1 - S-VHS with NICAM which cost over 1000 quid new. ;-) But still suffered from failed caps in the SMPS. My Panasonic has a switch which allows you to select the sound source independant of the picture - so you can record pictures off air using its internal tuner, and supply the sound from say an FM tuner. -- *He who dies with the most toys is, nonetheless, dead.
