So if you bought a Porsche then got home and found it was not actually made by Porsche after all you would be perfectly happy? |

Depends what you mean by 'made'. Porsche don't make all the parts that go into their cars, and neither does any other car maker. -- *Someday, we'll look back on this, laugh nervously and change the subject Dave Plowman London SW To e-mail, change noise into sound. |

Acoording to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porsche: Boxster and Cayman production was outsourced to Valmet Automotive in Finland from 1997 to 2011, and in 2012 production moved to Germany.[55] which tends to support what you say. I suggest a fair few people would be less than happy if they discovered their vehicle was produced under licence in China though! |

I would not buy a Porsche either, but would you expect it to be assembled in a Porsche factory in Germany or 'lovingly made under the supervision of German engineers'. |

I was given a Moulinex hairdryer for my 21st, which lasted 35 years. My skinflint friend came round here this avvy. He wanted me to repair his battery charger. It must have been fifty years old. It only needed a fuse. I ran it at 10A for 5 mins and it was fine. Bill |

I hope yours does not have the software bug that mine has, about 1 in 20 times of pressing the info button it crashes. Not noticed it yet. Only had it a day or so, of course. But there's a new software release for it - perhaps it fixes it. The best thing for me is that it enables the skip forwards/backwards keys, although you can't alter the skip length, sadly. -- SteveT |
