Sky subscription query
At home I have 3 sky boxes that I mostly use for radio. I would like to get a sky subscription. Am I able to use the card in each box (one box at any given time), or is the card locked to a single box?

Not had any recent experience, but it certainly used to be the case that the non premium (i.e anything other than sports and films) subscription channels would work in any box the card was inserted. -- Mark Please replace invalid and invalid with gmx and net to reply. www.paras.org.uk |

who sends it to France and its put in a box there and seems to work, so unless some hacking has gone on.... Brian -- From the Bed of Brian Gaff. The email is valid as Blind user. The only way they could do that would be if it phoned home a lot surely?

Brian You can get a subscription card to work in a new box by phoning Sky and giving the box details, as long as you are receiving a good signal, they must send a signal to do this. Y |

I don't fancy doing this every time I want to watch tv in a different room though. Do you think if I phoned them enough they'd give in and provide me with an unlocked card, or do they simply not exist? |

After you have both boxes registered, all you have to do is move the card from one box to another. -- Ian |

I think a card to watch in a second room is a tenner a month, I seriously doubt you would ever get anything cheaper fom them. Y |

They will change the card registration when you change your box for a new one, but there's no way you're going to allow you to keep carting the card to different boxes round the house. A 'multiroom' card will cost you £10 for each additional box (the last time I looked) which will mirror your subscribed channels on the main box. |
