Anyone got or seen one of these? I'm wanting to know if it has a 12volt input, ie. fed by a 240v transformer as I'm after one for use in a caravan at 12volt. Regards David |

If you buy a telly without DVB T2 you will regret it, because quite soon you will start to lose SD channels as transmissions switch to T2. Wait a little while until the manufacturers are forced to include T2 in the smaller screen sizes. At the moment they are getting rid of non T2 sets as fast as they can. 2. Don't run a telly from the van's 12VDC. Run the telly from a small true-sine inverter. That's a good thing to have in the van anyway. Actually, have you checked that your van doesn't have an inverter? Many do, just feeding one power point. 3. Don't buy the bargain HDMI lead at £25. Get one from CPC for £5. Bill |

Do not think that will bother me only if I were planning to go to Ireland with the caravan. This particular TV/DVD must be the best price on the High street. 2) I do have an Inverter as an accessory, do not see the point of plugging the TV into it, sorry just seems an extra bit of equipment if a TV can use 12volt. How many watts would the use of an inverter add to a TV that uses 20 watt? Of course an inverter will allow the use of a 240v only TV. The Inverter is used for charging such things as shaver, mobile phones and computer in the car when mobile. 3) Yes HDMi leads come from Boyes department store or Ebay. Regards David |

A TV in a caravan won't get much use, so should last a long time. In five years when everything is T2 you will wish you had a T2 telly. Inverters are very efficient. The problem with running your new telly from a dirty and fluctuating power source instead of a good quality inverter or the PSU supplied is that it will make it susceptible to interference and might even cause damage because of the spikes and transients. Also it will invalidate the warranty. I can't understand this problem with power consumption. Do you not have a decent leisure battery? If so and you still have problems the simplest solution to power shortage problems is to double up and have two batteries. Bill |
