Only if ISPs are going to provide unlimited bandwidth, without

Why did it need them? And I'll bet the treble one was full up to get
anywhere a flat response from the speaker. ;-)

No Dave. There were separate speakers for top and bottom and really very
good it was to, they made that set in Sweden and imported them around
1974/5 as the demand in the UK was growing rapidly and they couldn't
keep up.

Indeed we had a few customers when they saw it in the showroom who
commented on the "nice clear rich sound" and that decided it for some!.
The pix was excellent to, colour difference drive IIRC...

As it seems is with all flat panel TV's . How can you get a

with such a small flat thin case?...

I have three flat panel TV's and they all have good sound.

Well I think good sound and err,, good sound need a reference
point;!.,..

I've no
idea how it's done!

The flat panel that really amazes me is my PC. It is a HP
TouchSmart
310. The speakers are part of lower screen frame. It's about
an
inch
thick, two inch high and twenty inch long but it sounds
excellent
apart from on very low frequencies.

Steve

I somehow don't think many Monitor speakers would compare
that
well to
the monitor speakers I have next to my PC there're some years
olde made
by Rogers and called LS3/5A's ;)...

Tony

Try having a look on Fleabay at LS3/5's - you might get a
shock.
Typically £700++, I saw a pair on there the other day at
£1450!!

Err yes, I know;!...

They were BBC designed OB van monitors also widely used in
smaller studios and at transmitter sites. They were made by a
number of manufacturers under licence - Rogers, Chartwell,
Goodmans, Ambisonic are a few names that spring to mind - and
used two drive units, a KEF B110 and T15 (or was it T27?) The
special bit was the crossover which had 23 components in it for
phase correction alone. I think they were all 15R.

All aware thanks Woody..

Am on the lookout for a pair of these;)...

BC1's pass for casual use on the Worksop.

Rather like olde BBC inspired designs somehow;)..

I used to have a Mitzi with tone controls and they were very useful.

It's not just Adrian. The majority of Usenet people think WLM is a
load of rubbish. I have used Agent for years and find it works
perfectly in Windows 7. You don't have to use WLM.

Thanks all for the excellent help and advice. I'll think about it for a
month or two!

In a month or two everything will have changed. Sets with scarts are
becoming somewhat rare - they may have disappeared completely on
anything worth buying.

That's a worry. I still have a VCR (remember them?), a DVD player and
a STB connected to my old TV via scart connectors. The STB does have
an HDMI connector but the others don't.

This could be a problem when my TV breaks.

Here are two possible solutions.

1. A Scart to HDMI convertor.
E.g:
http://www.hdcable.co.uk/scart-hdmi-converter.html

2. A Scart to RF convertor (modulator).
E.g:
http://www.maplin.co.uk/programmable...odulator-33050

(Those are not personal recommendations, just examples of the methods.)
