Well your post looks absolutely fine to me.

Well, it would do - as I was using Turnpike.

However, this is Thunderbird. It will look the same.

Oops! - apart from not having an automatic signature.

LOL

What I really meant was "I forgot to configure the automatic signature".
And yes, for those who forget to bottom-post, Firefox definitely CAN
place the reply cursor at the bottom.

TP V5.02 still works
OK,

Yes fine under WIN 7 32 bit;)..

and that even ITS days are numbered.

Why is that Ian?..

As you will know, TP is no longer being supported by Demon/Thus/C&W, and
there are compatibility problems with the later versions of Windows. You
can't really rely on V5.02 continuing to work with Microsoft's ongoing
innovations. Even if you don't intend to change in the immediate future,
I reckon it's wise at least to 'get your hand in' with a potential
alternative.

Well we have a U licence for this and use as an ISP VM tho the SMTP
server is supplied via Namesco with whom we deal with elsewhere the VM
one tuned into a bit of a fiasco..

I rather doubt that its going to be a problem as we don't tend to chop
and change PC operating systems all that often we've only just changed
the one machine to Win 7 the other machine was still is a WIN 2000 Pro
one and still in use as it does what we "need" of it.

If and when any time comes that it becomes unusable then we'll just use
it on the 2000 machine its really no bother or under LINUX running a Win
emulator..

I sometimes wish that Someone would upgrade it a little and support it
tho I've apart from the 4G file issue never had a problem with it its
around the best mail and News client I've ever used and
experienced:))...

It almost seems to me that your a bit excessive re this matter. I don't

Yes, I maybe am. I did my research last Autumn, so really no more than
six or eight months ago. There have been no significant technology
changes since then, so I don't think my experience is out of date.

On the other hand, I'm the first to admit that I'm probably way too
fussy.

I'd have thought that if your -that- fussy you'd be on about many other
shortcomings of TV production rather then a minor these days issue like
light bleed...

However I'll see if I can notice that when around friends, Usually
there're decent enough to tun 't telly off when they have visitors;!...

The fact that top-of-the-range LCD TVs offer zoned backlighting does
suggest it offers an advantage, though.

I have three flat panel TV's and they all have good sound.

Well I think good sound and err,, good sound need a reference
point;!.,..

Anyone remember the olde Philips K7 chassis?. Now that for a TV of its
time was excellent. First TV I saw that has Treble and Bass controls;!..

I've no
idea how it's done!

The flat panel that really amazes me is my PC. It is a HP TouchSmart
310. The speakers are part of lower screen frame. It's about an inch
thick, two inch high and twenty inch long but it sounds excellent
apart from on very low frequencies.

Steve

I somehow don't think many Monitor speakers would compare that well to
the monitor speakers I have next to my PC there're some years olde made
by Rogers and called LS3/5A's ;)...

I am so impressed by the sound of my newish PC that I have removed my
old separate speakers to save space. I can't remember what make they
were.

Try having a look on Fleabay at LS3/5's - you might get a shock.
Typically £700++, I saw a pair on there the other day at £1450!!

They were BBC designed OB van monitors also widely used in
smaller studios and at transmitter sites. They were made by a
number of manufacturers under licence - Rogers, Chartwell,
Goodmans, Ambisonic are a few names that spring to mind - and
used two drive units, a KEF B110 and T15 (or was it T27?) The
special bit was the crossover which had 23 components in it for
phase correction alone. I think they were all 15R.

BC1's pass for casual use on the Worksop.

Rather like olde BBC inspired designs somehow;)..

Probably the best quality TV design is laser, but that will
be outside of your price range.

OLED vs LED

Since those articles were written, SONY have pulled out of OLED production
for domestic TVs and the next big thing SONY are hoping will save their
presence in the domestic TV market is crystal LED.
