Or is the country that sent men to the moon not "civilised" enough for you?

The USSR put the first man in space. Is that how *you* define civilisation?

Are you saying the USSR wasn't a civilisation?

Figures. Add 'civilised' to the increasingly long list of things you don't
understand.

So if I understand correctly , you don't believe civilisation arose until
liberal human rights were in place? So that would be the 1960s in the UK
when capital punishment was finally abolished.

1998, the last execution was in the 1960s.

We didn't have a civilisation
before that right?

You really are an utter fool even for a lefty. Educate yourself:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Civilization

"Primarily, the term has been used to refer to the material and instrumental
side of human cultures that are complex in terms of technology, science, and
division of labor. Such civilizations are generally hierarchical and urbanized"

"The level of advancement of a civilization is often measured by its progress
in agriculture, long-distance trade, occupational specialization, a special
governing class and urbanism"
