Regards David The adverts are from London, where they think London is the whole world. The adverts warning of imminent Freeview demise may be from London, but that doesn't mean they should be ignored. CP effectively "stole" the clean channels (free from cross channel interference) from Rowridge when they switched, requiring all of the Rowridge area to retune again when CP caught up with the digital era. Not a smidgeon of a message in the region about that from DigitalUK! No, we got all the digital robot mailings telling us to retune at the first stage (March 7th) and the second stage (March 21st), but not an inkling of a suggestion that yet a third retune would be necessary when CP switched on 18th April. Channels just went out and 26000 homes had to search for reasons why: http://www.ukfree.tv/fullstory.php?storyid=1107051978 I guess they spent the mailing budget on some fancy lights. :-( But it isn't all bad news and moaning. The EPG on my TV has only been partially filled since the "final" DSO retune on 21st March. Following the final final retune after CP nicked its frequencies the EPG is fully functional again. ;-) -- Kennedy |

Didn't you get the booklet "Your guide to switchover" from DigitalUK which states on p. 13 that Rowridge viewers need to do an additional rescan on 18th April ? |

I'm sure it was in there, but a couple of tech savvy friends of mine had totally forgotten about what was effectively a DSO 3 stage for Rowridge. I'd been rabbiting on to them in recent weeks about it too. I saw *N0* reminders at all on regional TV about it. Also yesterday, Hannington, Oxford, and Stockland Hill all had power increases, bringing the COM muxes to some folk who might/will have been the wrong side of the digital cliff until now. Nothing about these sites either. DUK have only concentrated on analogue switch offs, they bugger off once DSO 2 happens, and simply don't really bother about any subsequent retunes. To be fair, they've only performed a half hearted effort. Mostly useless I'd say. |

I got one which said that I would need to do the two rescans I mentioned. I'm pretty sure there weren't 13 pages in the booklet that I got anyway and there certainly weren't any posters about it round these parts, as there were leading up to the two previous dates. -- Kennedy |

We've had one leaflet (single page) about Crystal Palace, which went in the bin as we are Hannington. Nothing else at all. At least this thread explains my mum calling me from Rowridge land yesterday. Andy |
